| Making Gold Frames in Paint Shop Pro | |
| Do you love those thick, heavy antique gold and silver frames?
Here is a simple and painless way to make them in Paint Shop
Pro. These can also be added to your "Picture Frames" files and used
with all of your other frames. Actually, X2 makes this a painless

| 1. Open Paint Shop>Open a new canvas and apply these settings. Size: 800x1000 pixels>Raster Background>RGB-8bits/channel>Transparent - this is important! | |

| 2. Add a new raster layer. Name it "frame". | |

| 3. Open your Materials Properties Palette and choose the Gradient tab. On the drop-down menu choose the Metal Brass style. Use these settings: Angel=0 > Repeats=3 > Style - second from the left > Horizontal=50> Vertical=50 | |

| 4. Be sure your "frames" layer is selected and using your Flood Fill tool click on your canvas. Now you can see where we are going, can't you? Doesn't that set off the creative juices? | |

| 5. Choose your Selection Tool with these settings: Rectangle>Add>Feather=0. | |

| 6. With your selection tool draw an inner square about two ridges in. See the dotted lines in the photo below? You can vary the thickness of your frame at this point but if you get it too thick it tends to cover too much of your photo when you use "Picture Frames". | |

| 7. Press Delete. | |

| 8. You should now have a gold frame sitting on top of a transparent layer. In your top menu bar click on Selections>Select None. | |
